The value of life can be considered through several perspectives such as economic and moral. Life is not only about a human’s life, but about plants, animals, but everything that’s alive, breathing and growing. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/value_of_ life).
Ethical theorists see the value of life in term of quality, respect and liberty. Aristotle said bout life “the ultimate value of life depends upon awareness and the power of contemplation rather than upon mere survival." In the same way, Montaigne a French philosopher, said:"The value of life is not in the length of days, but in the use we make of them."
In order to increase the value of their own life, people should find a right balance between each value that they care about. For improving the life in general, people should be aware of their surroundings, environment, be informed about wars and keep the desire to change the world. They have to develop such values as compassion, sensitivity which can give to the life the value that it deserves.
The value of life is often neglected when people chose the short pleasure over the perspective of durable happiness by using drugs, drinking or overeating.
Some people value their life to the fullest by eating healthy, working out and not drinking alcohol or doing drugs, in order to prolong their life. Some people are complete drug addicts, alcoholics, fast food addicts, and ruined their life by making these choices.
In this way, they tend to devalue their own life and are not able to respect the life of other people. They should start in respecting themselves in order to care about other lives.
People do not appreciate places and things as much as they should. A person does not feel happy if he does not see as much or feel as much of the beauty that life has to offer.
Without valuing life, a person does not appreciate the little things that people have to offer them. He cannot appreciate aspects of people that mean the most like: their smiles, laughs, sense of humor, love and comfort. At any moment life can be taken from you or the people you surround yourself with, and it is these little things that you remember the most about people and will cherish forever.
Life applies to everyone from the day they are born until the day they die. In order to fulfill life you need to be physically happy, by eating healthy and working out. You also need to be socially happy, by surrounding yourself with good healthy people who make you happy and follow the same life-style as you.
Health can be a good way to enjoy your life better and differently. Without good health people reduce length and quality of life. Valuing life allows people to celebrate the things that fulfill life, such as: weddings, births, vacations, family, love and friendships. People must value strength, not just physically, but mentally, in order to fulfill life. An aspect of strength is discipline, which is another value that has to do with life. A person needs to have a strong discipline in order to stay healthy and make good choices. To live a good life a person needs to fulfill each day with happiness. Knowing that you have fulfilled your life to the fullest, I believe, is the greatest gift you can give yourself.
